Homeowners Insurance Price Quote Factors

Description of your home (age, style, number of stories).
Distance from the nearest fire division and fire hydrant.
Square footage of your home.
Security Devices (If your property has a home security system, deadbolts, or smoke alarm you will receive a discount on your premium.
A picture of your home. A company will still want to consider the condition of your property to determine what rate they will provide, or if they are even willing to underwrite your coverage.
Limits of coverage desired.
Deductible. The higher your policy deductible, the lower your price.
Form of coverage desired. The most broad policy form will cost more than the basic homeowner insurance policy.
Endorsements or riders. If you require endorsements or riders for things such as a home based business, jewelry, or water back up, your premium will be greater.'

These factors are not the only things that are considered when a company is pricing your policy. There are reasons a company will decline to even offer you a rate quote. Some of the things that can have that type of impact are pets (especially animals with a biting history), trampolines, vacancy of property, poor loss history, and age of home (unless updated).
